IOWA CITY - The University of Iowa’s College of Dentistry is accepting applications for Dental Assistants. UI offers an exciting opportunity to work in a teaching environment with dental students/health care professionals providing clinical chairside assistance to faculty, dental students, and specialty graduate dentists. Interacting with patients, patient management, coaching dental students, making digitized radiographs, as well as chair-side assisting. Hours are typically Mon.-Fri., 8-5. UI provides a liberal benefit pkg including: 21-36 pd holiday/vacation days/year (based on length of employment); up to 18 pd sick days/year; retirement, health & life insurance plans; staff-tuition scholarships. His Hands Free Clinic in Cedar Rapids is looking for more dental assistant volunteers to fill dental clinics. The time commitment is small, it can be as little as 3 hours per month, but the impact on the community is huge! We currently have a waiting list for people to see a dentist of over 100 people. The clinic will take care of scheduling the patients, all you have to do is show up and show off your dental assisting skills!

HEALTH OUTREACH WORKER Provides services consistent with education, scope of practice and credentialing, including assistance to consumers in need of direct or linked services to prevent disease, protect and promote public health. Associate’s degree or diploma in applied science from an accredited community college or technical school required; a valid license as a Registered Dental Assistant issued by the State of Iowa (Health Outreach Worker - Oral Health). One year of experience required, previous experience in the oral health services preferred. Multilingual skills preferred.
