Statement of Professional Conduct

As a professional dental assistant, I will promote the advancement of the careers of dental assistants and the dental assisting profession in matters of education, legislation, credentialing and professional activities which enhance the delivery of quality dental health care to the public.


Upcoming Ce requirement changes: effective september 1 ,2018 

  • The following CE requirements will be implemented for dental licensure in Iowa

    • Infection Control - at least 1 hour per Biennium (Assistants, Dentists and Hygienests)
    • Radiography - at least 2 hours per Biennium (Assistants)
    • Jurisprudence - at least 1 hour per Biennium (Assistants) Any Jurisprudence CE earned from Jan. 10, 2018 will be honored
    • CPR - a licensee can claim up to 3 hours per Biennium
    • Online classes - a maximum of 12 is allowed per biennium, if the webinar course is live with the ability to interact with the presenter, it can be used as a live CE credit
    • Attendance to any Annual Session - Up to 3 hours can be claimed for attendance to Annual Session and 2 hours can be claimed for attendance to Table Clinic Sessions
